Game Editor


Yet , Another Opensource gamemaker with complete support of the powerful C Language. But can also be done completely with mouse and click approach too. Game Editor runs on all platforms , and you can create games for windows, linux, mac ,Iphone or Ipad ! Its a bit clunky at first , i'm sure you will definitely fall in love with the script editor. With plenty of tutorial available , this one you can't miss. 

 Create a Mouse following shooter


Basically the shooter must Look towards the Mouse pointer ( Crosshair ).

We can do it by setting the angle of the shooter everytime the mouse moves(or Always).

Angle is calculated from inverse Tan of difference of co-ordinates.

In Games Factory set Condition as "Always" and set the shooters "Set angle" to ATan( angle*).

Where angle is dx/dy . And dx = X reference - X of Object and

dy = Y of Object - Y reference And VOILA

 Make Your Own First Game

Here's a simple game that you will make.

It contains a Ball , Pad and Wall ( bricks optional )

Ball moves , Bounces . Pad is controlled by Mouse.

Get Ready

First Download this File (which contains a template i made)

Step I - Open the File


Open the File in Games Factory 2 (fig 1)

Double Click on Breakout Level 1 (Fig2)

Frame should look like this (Fig 3)


Step II  - Moving the Ball

Select By clicking on the Ball

Now Click on Motion Button


Step III - Moving the Pad

Same as Previous step

Instead of 'Bouncing Ball' we select 'Mouse Controlled'


Step IV - Collisions : The Event Editor ( Funny Programming )

1. Ball collide with Wall ?

Click on Event Editor (Fig1)

Click on New Condition

What's Another Object ? Ofcourse the "Walls". (and "Pad" Later)

Select "Bounce" Under the "BALL"


Step V - " Testing Game "

Run Current Frame ( Frequently Used ) to test your changes.

2.  Ball Collide with the PAD ?


Extra Condition : Press "Escape" to "End Application"
